Season-ending win leaves Carolina more questions

“If it goes one way, I’ll cherish the moments. If it goes another way, then we’ll have more to share. I don’t want to make a decision when I’m tired because I know, right now, I’m tired.”

TAMPA, Fla. — Some will leave. Some will stay. But the question is which Carolina Panthers will go in which direction.

Quarterback Vinny Testaverde said farewell and defensive end Mike Rucker continued to make it sound like he could follow the retirement path before long. But coach John Fox and general manager Marty Hurney were making it sound like they were not going anywhere.

‘Well, yesterday I was the UCLA head coach,’ Fox said. ‘Today, I heard I was the Miami head coach. Right now I can tell you I’m the Carolina head coach. Other than some of the speculation by (the media), I’ve never thought anything different.’ Read more
